Seasonal Cleanup in Belle Isle

We clear leaf drop, cut back cold-damaged plants, edge your beds and haul everything away. The timing matters as much as the work, so we plan each visit around what your yard needs right now and what can wait until later.

A reset for your yard, a few times a year

A seasonal cleanup gets your yard back in order after a stretch of weather has worn it down. We rake out leaves and pine straw, trim back what the cold or the summer heat burned, re-cut bed edges and take the debris off your property. Done at the right moment, it keeps small problems from turning into plants you have to pay to replace.

There's no classic fall up north here. Live oaks shed most of their leaves in late winter and early spring, a January cold snap can brown out tender shrubs, and the summer rains push growth fast. We time cleanups around those swings instead of a fixed calendar.

We've been in business since 2018, and the pattern holds. Yards that get two or three well-timed cleanups a year need fewer big fixes. If you want weekly mowing, that's our lawn care service. A lot that has gone wild for years is a better fit for property cleanup.

What a seasonal cleanup covers

Leaf and pine straw removal

We clear the lawn, beds, driveway and walks. Matted oak leaves smother grass and hold moisture against plant stems, which invites rot and fungus.

Cold-damage cutback

We wait until the frost risk has passed, then cut brown growth back to live wood. Cut too early and the plant pushes tender new shoots that the next cold night kills.

Shrub and hedge shaping

We trim plants back from walls, windows and walkways. This is light shaping to keep things healthy, not hard topping that leaves bare stubs.

Weeding and bed edging

Weeds come out by the root, and bed lines get re-cut so grass stops creeping in. If the mulch is thin, we can add fresh material through our mulch and beds service.

Fallen limbs and fronds

We pick up dropped branches and dead palm fronds on the ground. Work up in the canopy is handled through tree trimming and removal or palm tree pruning and removal.

Haul-away

Everything we cut or rake gets loaded and taken off your property. You don't end up with a pile at the curb.

Signs your yard is due

  • Leaves piling up in beds

A thick layer in the beds and along the fence line blocks light and traps water. The grass underneath starts to thin out.

  • Brown, crispy plants after a cold night

Hibiscus, ixora and other tender plants often look dead after a freeze. Most come back if they're cut back at the right time.

  • Shrubs touching your home

Branches against siding hold moisture and give bugs an easy path inside. They also scrape paint when the wind picks up.

  • Beds with no edge left

When you can't tell where the lawn stops and the bed starts, weeds and runners have taken over. It's easier to fix now than after a full summer of growth.

  • Dead fronds and loose limbs before storm season

Loose debris turns into flying debris in high wind. Clearing it in late spring is cheap protection for your yard and your home.

How a cleanup goes

  1. 1

    Free walkthrough

We walk the yard with you and point out what needs attention now and what can wait. You get a written estimate before any work is scheduled.

  2. 2

    Pick the right timing

We set the date around the season. A cutback after a freeze waits for warmer weather, while leaf removal and edging can happen sooner.

  3. 3

    The work day

The crew works bed by bed, trims, rakes and edges, then blows off the driveway, walks and patio. Debris gets loaded as we go so your yard is usable when we leave.

  4. 4

    Final look and next steps

We go over what we did and flag anything worth watching, like a sprinkler head that's spraying the wrong way or a shrub that may not recover. We also tell you when the next cleanup makes sense.

What sets the price

No two properties carry the same load of leaves and overgrowth, so the number comes after we've walked yours. That walkthrough and the estimate cost you nothing, and the estimate spells out each task so you can see where the money goes. Over a full year, keeping up on a schedule tends to run less than paying for one big catch-up job.

Yard size and debris load
A large lot under several oaks holds far more leaves than a small yard with young trees. More volume means more labor and more loads to haul.
Time since the last cleanup
A yard tended last season goes quickly. One that's gone a year or more needs heavier cutting and more weeding.
Amount of cutback
Light shaping is quick. Cutting back a whole hedge row of cold-damaged plants takes longer and fills the truck faster.
Access
Narrow side gates and fenced backyards mean carrying debris out by hand. Open access to the street keeps labor down.
One-time or recurring
Regular visits keep each cleanup smaller. A single catch-up visit is a bigger job.

Seasonal cleanup questions

Something not covered here? (407) 289-1778

When is the best time to schedule a cleanup?

For most yards, late winter into early spring is the big one, after the oak leaves drop and the frost risk is over. A second visit before the summer rains, or in the fall, keeps things from getting ahead of you. We'll suggest a schedule during the walkthrough.

Should I cut back plants right after a freeze?

Usually no. The dead leaves help shield the living stems from the next cold night. We wait until the cold is behind us, then cut back to healthy growth.

Do you take the debris with you?

Yes. Leaves, cuttings, fallen limbs and fronds all get loaded and hauled off. We don't leave piles at the curb.

How is this different from property cleanup?

A seasonal cleanup is routine upkeep for a yard that's mostly in shape. Property cleanup is for a yard that's been neglected for a long time, with heavy overgrowth or junk to clear. We'll tell you honestly which one fits.

Do I need to be home during the work?

No. As long as we can get through the gates and know about any pets, we can work while you're out. We'll go over the results with you afterward.
