Lawn Care in Belle Isle

We mow, feed and watch your lawn on a steady schedule. The goal is simple: thick grass that crowds out weeds and holds up through summer, so you spend less fixing it later. We start with a walk around your yard, at no charge.

Lawn care that saves you money down the road

St. Augustine covers most yards around here. You will also run into Zoysia and Bahia. Every grass type has its own best mowing height, its own feeding plan and its own watering needs. Miss on those and the turf gets thin. Thin turf is an open door for weeds, chinch bugs and fungus.

A cheap mow-and-go service can look fine for a few months. Then a dead patch shows up in August and you are paying for new sod. We would rather spend a little more care up front and keep the turf you already have. That is how we have run lawns since 2018.

We tell you what your lawn needs and what it does not. If something is better handled another way, like an irrigation fix or a bed instead of grass in deep shade, we say so.

What our lawn care covers

  1. 01

    Mowing at the right height

St. Augustine stays healthiest cut tall, around 3.5 to 4 inches. Taller blades shade the soil, hold moisture and keep weed seeds from sprouting. We keep blades sharp so the tips do not tear and brown.

  2. 02

    Edging and cleanup

We edge along walks, drives and beds, then blow clippings off hard surfaces. Clippings on the grass stay put. They break down and put nutrients back where the roots can use them.

  3. 03

    Feeding at the right times

Spring and fall are when we fertilize, and we stick to the summer fertilizer limits that apply locally. We use slow-release products for even growth, not a big green flush that draws pests.

  4. 04

    Weed control

Thick grass is the best weed control there is. Where weeds still break through, we spot treat them instead of blanket spraying the whole yard.

  5. 05

    Pest and disease checks

Every visit, we look for chinch bug damage, large patch fungus and grub signs. Catching them early usually means a small treatment, not a lawn replacement.

Signs your lawn needs regular care

  • Yellow or straw-colored patches

In hot, sunny spots this is often chinch bugs. They kill St. Augustine quickly in summer if nobody catches them.

  • Brown rings in cooler months

Circles that grow wider from fall into spring usually mean large patch fungus. Heavy watering and nitrogen put down at the wrong season help it spread.

  • Weeds taking over

Dollarweed, crabgrass and sedge move in where grass is thin. It usually means the mowing height or watering is off.

  • Bare spots that stay bare

Patches that never green up tell us the soil, shade or irrigation needs a look before anything else.

  • You are tired of doing it yourself

A Florida lawn grows fast from May to October. Plenty of people just want it handled right without giving up every Saturday.

How we get your lawn on track

  1. 1

    Free walkthrough

We walk your yard with you. We check grass type, soil, shade, sprinkler coverage and any problem spots. You ask whatever you want.

  2. 2

    Honest plan

We tell you what the lawn needs now and what can wait. You get a clear written list of what each visit includes, with no extras you never signed off on.

  3. 3

    Visits that follow the season

Summer growth means we come out more often. In winter, the gaps between visits get longer. Before we pack up, gates are latched and walks and drives are blown clean.

  4. 4

    Check-ins as things change

If we spot bugs, fungus or a broken sprinkler head, we tell you what we found and what it will take. Nothing gets added without your okay.

What moves the cost of lawn care

Lawn care pricing is mostly about time on site and what the turf needs to stay healthy. A lawn that is kept up costs less each year than one that gets rescued every summer. We go over the numbers at your free estimate so you can compare options side by side.

Lawn size and layout
More square feet takes more time. Lots of trees, beds and tight corners add trim work too.
Visit frequency
Summer growth needs more frequent mowing. Some yards can stretch visits out in the cooler months.
Current condition
A lawn full of weeds or pest damage takes extra work at first. Once it thickens up, upkeep usually gets easier.
Treatments included
Mowing alone costs less than a plan with feeding, weed control and pest checks. We explain what each piece does so you can decide what is worth it.

Lawn care questions we hear

How often should my lawn be mowed?

In the warm, rainy months most lawns here need mowing about every week. In winter, growth slows down and every two weeks is often enough. We set the schedule to how your grass actually grows.

Why do you leave the grass so tall?

Tall St. Augustine has deeper roots and shades out weeds. It also handles heat and dry spells better. Scalping it short is one of the most common reasons lawns here fail.

Can you fix my brown spots or do I need new sod?

Often we can save it. Chinch bugs, fungus and watering problems can all be treated if caught early. If an area is truly dead, we will tell you plainly and talk through sod installation for just that spot.

Do you handle my sprinklers too?

Yes. A lot of lawn problems start with bad coverage or overwatering. If we see an issue during a visit, our irrigation service can adjust or repair the system.

Do I need to sign a long contract?

We will set up a regular schedule that fits your lawn and walk you through the terms when we talk. Ask us anything about it on the call or at the walkthrough.
